Someone who has been there

“My psalm of thanksgiving”

A Psalm of the Truckload of Mercy and Deliverance I cried out to the Lord in the deep of the midnight, When my soul was overwhelmed and my spirit was heavy. The walls were closing in, and the tight place suffocated me; I sat among boxes, with two babies in my arms, and wept for mercy. I asked, “Lord, will you look upon me? Will you help me?” The eyes of the onlookers were watching for our defeat, And those we called family and friends waited for us to stumble. They called to snoop and whispered in secret, Even the brother of my husband sought to see us in a tight place. They watched for our downfall, expecting the desert to consume us. But the Lord is a shield around us! He closed the mouths of the mockers and turned their curiosity into confusion. In the midst of the valley, the shadow of death tried to claim my husband, A hidden snare was set to take his life away. But the Lord of Hosts stood in the gap! He sent His servant with power and command, And by the authority of Heaven, every hidden death in his body was broken and gone! The grave was denied, and life was spoken over his flesh. The enemy whispered that we would be stranded, The paperwork was stalled, and the doors seemed shut. My heart was anxious for the packing, and my hands were tired, And the road ahead of us looked empty and dry. But in the night, the Lord spoke in a dream of living water. I looked for a drop, worrying how I would carry even a single pack, But the Master of the House commanded a truckload for me! Though onlookers and daughters of attitude wondered at the favor, The Voice of peace smiled and said, “All your needs are met.” And truly, the Lord has done great things for us! What was promised in the night has broken forth in the morning light. He did not just open a door; He poured out a flood of provision. The corporate gates opened, and every cost was carried; The burden of the move was lifted, and the journey was made smooth. He remembered my husband in his season of waiting; He gave him a job, restored his health, and stamped a visa to his own name! Our steps are secure, and our dwelling is established. Now look at the place the Lord has brought us to! A warm home of beauty, crafted with great attention to detail. From our windows, we look out upon the peace of the river, And our children run with joy in the communal garden. There is a marketplace at our doorstep, and abundance in our paths, And a place of rest to soak away the memory of the wilderness. I am like those who dream! My mouth is filled with laughter! The Lord saw me in my tight place, He preserved the life of my husband, He looked upon my tears, and He answered us with a wide, beautiful room. To the God who silences the snoopers, heals the body, And gives truckloads of water to the thirsty— Be all the praise, the honor, and the exaltation forever and ever. Amen.
